Overview:
The Savannah, Georgia office of PSS is currently seeking individuals to fill full-time Collection Specialist positions. These exciting positions are key for managing the accounts of PSS highly visible customers. The Collections Specialist position is a first-party collections / customer service job with the following key responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assigned customer accounts where the dollar volume, complexity or seriousness of the situation warrants escalation or closer monitoring
- Evaluate credit information and determine credit limits up to allowed approval limit.
- Make recommendations regarding bad debt write-offs and third party collection assignment when internal collections are deemed no longer effective.
- Prepare bad debt analysis reporting.
- Daily review of orders on credit hold for assigned accounts, taking action as needed to resolve issues preventing shipment of orders, including working closely with sales reps.
- Oversee third party collection agencies, including account assignment and performance evaluation. Oversee bankruptcy claims filing and follow-up.
- Responsible for on-going development of a training program to support credit and collection processes and training the Collection Specialists, including providing ongoing guidance.
Skill Requirements:
- In-depth collection experience in a manufacturing or business to business environment, negotiating for payment with delinquent or difficult customers while maintaining the relationship for on-going sales.
- Must possess good listening skills and patience, in addition to a level of assertiveness and persistence with a focus on customer service and quality.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and Credit and Collections Principles and Laws.
- Credit investigation for setting credit lines and skip-tracing experience in reading and interpreting credit bureau reports, contacting other creditors, and using resources available both online and in a manual environment.
- Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with an emphasis on the ability to prepare and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in SaaS solutions and medical industry collections.
